Thoughts and Thanks from Psalm 139

    Have you thought about God, or Do you have time to think of God or Do you take

    some time to thank God daily; let us ponder over and meditate upon these things

    today.

               

When God made you, you were an original thought in his mind!

"You alone created my inner being.
You knitted me together inside my mother."

When God made you, he made someone wonderful!

"I will give thanks to you
because I have been so amazingly
and miraculously made.
Your works are miraculous,
and my soul is fully aware of this."

When God made you, he didn't make any mistakes!

"My bones were not hidden from you
when I was being made in secret,
when I was being skillfully woven
in an underground workshop.
Your eyes saw me when I was only a fetus."

When God made you, he had a specific purpose and plan in mind!

"Every day of my life was recorded in your book
before one of them had taken place."

Wonders in My Own Backyard

It never ceases to amaze me that I can sit in my great room and marvel at God's glorious creation.  These four does came for dinner the other evening after a snow. 

The Lord Almighty is my strength.  He makes my feet like those of a deer.  He makes me walk on the mountains.  Hebakkuk 3:19

The next time I feel like I am stuck in the valley, I will remember that it is my Lord, the Almighty, who enables me to climb above to the high places.

Winter Wonderland

I thought that since everyone in St. Louis is currently worrying about a snow/sleet/ice/rain storm headed this way and their possible commuting probems, that it would be nice to take a look - in advance - at how beautiful the aftermath could be!  This picture was taken in Francis Park, in the city of St. Louis after a similar storm last winter.

Sunday Surrender

We don't often think of surrender as a good thing.  Webster's Dictionary defines the word surrender as; giving oneself to the power of another.

That's what Sunday's are going to be about here, surrendering ourselves to the One who has the power and the authority in our lives. 

Please submit your stories of surrender and God's grace in your life.  Tell us about things you finally let go of, only to have the Lord graciously bless you.  Maybe you finally forgave that hurt from years ago.  Did you lose weight only after you surrendered your food issues to God, and quit dieting?  Did you entrust a desire to the Lord, only to discover that He had something so much better planned all along?  So, if you get the idea send your thoughts to:  blessingsgalore@charter.net   They will be screened and posted as a Sunday blessing.

Oh, by the way, if you have an absolutely wonderful worship experience to share, Sunday is the day for that as well.

Well we have made it through the week.  Now, it's up to you.  This site is dedicated to the glory of God.  John 3:16 says; For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 

Let's lift His name, shine our lights for Him alone, and give our loving God all of the glory!

Saturday Satisfaction

Speaker/writer, Beth Moore, is the first person who challenged me to think about finding my satisfaction in God.  So often we believe that we will find satisfaction in stuff.  Ideally we long to find satisfaction in our relationships.  The truth is people will let us down and stuff doesn't last. 

Acts 17:24-28a says: The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands.  And He is not served by human hands, as if He needed anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.  From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live.  God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.  For in Him we live and move and have our being.

So, if you have a favorite Bible verse, a poem, or a memory . . . anything at all that has helped you to find your satisfaction in God; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Please submit it to:  blessingsgalore@charter.net   Don't we all long to find some comfort and peace in this journey we are on?  Let's encourage each other with those things that have helped us along the way.

Friday Friends

Friday is friends day!  Has our Heavenly Father worked in your life through the kindness of a stranger, acquaintance, or friend? 

This is the day where we share the love!  Maybe you had an opportunity to thank the person right at the moment of their kindness.  It's possible the situation passed before you ever had the chance to tell them of the difference they made in your day . . . week . . . year . . . or life!

St. Valentine's Day

I am thankful for Valentine's Day!  It is such a simple little holiday, named for St. Valentine, a Catholic Priest serving in Rome many years ago.  After Claudius II banned marriage because he determined that single men made better soldiers; Fr. Valentine secretly married couples who came to him in love.  The legend goes that he was later executed for going against the ruling authority.

What a blessing that there have been men and women throughout history who have taken a stand, and determined that they will honor God's Word.  That His truth is the authority by which we are guided in this adventure called life.

Today, I am thankful that I have God's Word and the freedom to study it, that there have been men and women who have gone before me setting godly examples, and that this day I am able to love others because He first loved me.

Thursday Thanksgiving

   God is so amazingly good to us!  His mercies are new every morning!  His steadfast love never fails!  Psalm 3:3 says; But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.

Thursdays are thank you notes to God day.  As we thank Him, our heads are lifted in praise, and we encourage one another with messages of hope.  God is doing great and awesome things in the lives of His children.  Let's thank and praise Him, and rejoice with each other!  Amen!

Rainy Season in India

  I took this picture about 18 months and 8000 pictures ago!  It is somewhere in south central India, during the monsoon season. 

  Even in the mountains, everything is lush and green.  There are waterfalls everywhere as there is just no other place for all the water to go.  The clouds are very low and you don't have to get too high in the hills to be encased in clouds. 

It was incredibly beautiful!
